Potomac George

Description
The casading waterfalls of the Potomac river engulfs the viewer whose vantage point is amid the falling waters that transform into the image of George Washington. One is viewing the river from its source, just as the nascent USA is viewed from its historical inception. Freedom is dangled like a carrot before the lonely figure - the slave- in the boat with but one oar to row his boat, his life. For him advancement is a slow process, since he is deprived of the adequate means of self-propulsion.There are rocky obstacles in his way even if his labor is the oxygen of sustenance that the nascent country desparately needs. The raging waters a gushing towards him retarding his progress along the roaring river. But he has HOPE as long as he holds that oar, his life.
