Description
This is an issue that has long intrigued me. It deals with the rejection by some people who undeniably display physical attributes of their African ancestery, but who prefer to deny it in favor of one that, they feel, raises them to a higher social order. The two women sitting on the stoop, with their backs to the viewer, are waving goodbye to their grandfather (African ancestry) who clearly displays his displeasure, but is oblivious of the fact that HE initiated the trend.
